Just in Case...

Saturday was a make-up snow day at school. The kids were not too excited about it but it was only 4 hours. Someone was all smiles as they got off the bus...Alli and finally after 3 weeks of having a loose tooth it came out! She was so excited but wanted to wait to put it under her pillow since it was a weekend. She thought the Tooth Fairy could be pretty busy and might not bring her anything. But after washing & polishing the lost tooth she decided to place it under her pillow. Again her sweet brother decided to leave a little something to help out the tooth fairy! She woke up to a whole dollar! and a quarter from Caden!

Our Jolly Happy Soul!

The one thing the kids really wanted to do was build a snowman...so with a little magic...and the help of the sun...our snowman came to life! We all took turns rolling our snowman in the front yard. We used our snowman kit to complete the jolly soul! We still have part of him in our yard today! Almost a week later!

Let it Snow!

We got 7 inches of snow! I honestly don't know who had more fun...the kids or the dogs? George had snow all over his little fur...we had to use a hairdryer to get him warm. Bailey was so happy just to sit in it and roll around. Alli enjoyed eating it and Caden couldn't stop throwing the snow! The sledding was ok but the snow was so soft we couldn't make a snowman. We had such fun watching the kids make snow angels, run around and just play in the snow! Some of our friends came over later in the afternoon and you can see from the photo they found a way to warm up!

Ice Ice Baby!

Brrr! It is cold outside! Single digits to be exact! Since it was going to stay below freezing for a few days...perfect time to make ice! A rink that is! How do you make your own backyard rink? Well, take a few hockey sticks, pvc pipes and a dry cleaner plastic bag and what do you get??? Our own ice! Not quite big enough for a game of hockey but still lots of fun! The kids had so much fun skating! There was no winter weather in the forecast so we tried to make the most of the cold temps. Little did we know in a few days...

Happy New Year!

We had a great New Year's Celebration. After a not so great dinner at Twisted Fork we made our way back to our house for a huge sleepover! 14 of us rang in the New Year! Followed by a wonderful breakfast on New Year's Day.

Cousins Christmas

We went over to YaYa & Granddaddy's for Christmas lunch with all of the family. It is always fun to see the kids playing with their cousins...at one point there was a pile of kids on the couch & after they all got off I saw that MacKenzie was on the bottom...you couldn't even see her! Following lunch the kids opened a few presents and then the adults exchanged gifts by drawing numbers and selecting from the pile. I guess we didn't buy so well... we came home with our own gifts...oh well...at least I liked what I brought!

Christmas Memories

There is one thing the kids always look forward to on Christmas...not seeing what Santa left or even what gifts are for them under the tree...no it is them giving gifts. Each year the kids go shopping for all of the family members at the local dollar store. They each have a list of 25 folks and it always amazes me to see what they select. This year YaYa took them so it was a true surprise to see what was purchased. George loved his rawhide bones, Bailey a stuffed snowman, Dad got two fishing bear statues, Mom a new ornament and an angel, Uncle Jay received clips, Granddaddy nuts, Aunt Debbie lotion and YaYa a YaYa sign! It is such a joy to see both of the kids so excited about giving rather than receiving! As far as the rest of the goodies....it was a pretty rockin Christmas! My cousin Michael & his fiance drove into town. Not to be left out Michael received hand goop and Sarah an angel! We had so much fun hanging out with them for the weekend. Michael can certainly "Testify" that he rocks and Sarah is as sweet as a "Candy Factory"!

Santa was here!

We didn't know what time the kids would get up but we thought around 8. To our surprise they were still sleeping at 8 so our family didn't get moving until closer to 9! YaYa & Granddaddy joined us in the morning to see the kids and to see what Santa left. Here at the Moore house...Santa brings 3 gifts just like the wisemen brought to Jesus on his Birth. Alli was ecstatic when she saw Biscuit! She also had a toy monkey and some books! Thanks Santa. Caden was very pleased with his Night Vision Goggles and his Tribot. He also had some Super Fly Guy books! It was such a fun morning...after seeing what Santa left in the Santa buckets we fixed a yummy breakfast and Aunt Debbie & Uncle Jay joined us.

Christmas Eve

After lunch with the Moores we headed back home to get ready for church...unfortunately, I was feeling under the weather so once we got home I took a nap. YaYa & Granddaddy came over and we watch their church that was televising the Christmas Eve service. After dinner we gave the kids their new Christmas pajamas. Red with Gingerbreads on them....so in keeping with the theme...we left Santa 2 gingerbread men and some milk. Andy read the kids the true Christmas story from Luke. Before long the kids were off to sleep with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads! The stockings hung by the Chimney with care...

Moore Family Christmas

We went to visit Gran & PaPa and to celebrate Christmas with the Moore family. It was a wonderful time. We gave PaPa a DS and he and Caden were consumed with video game fun! They gave Alli a paint set that she and Gran painted. Anna was under the weather but she and Aunt Amy were able to join us the next day for lunch. Luckily, Aunt Sally & Uncle Ron were in town too!

The kids really wanted to sleep under the tree so a few nights before Christmas we sent them to put on their pj's and set up the sleeping bags. They were so surprised! Hot Chocolate too!
