Summer Time & the living is easy...

Sorry for the delay in posts this week...it has been a little busy. We had VBS last week so our days were filled with crafts, songs and more crafts! The kids really enjoyed seeing some old friends and so did I! In fact, one morning one of my girlfriends and I had a trip to the spa while the kids were VBS-ing. This weekend we had a special visit from Aunt Amy, Anna, Gran & PaPa. Despite our attempt to visit the pool and the huge rain that followed we had a great time.

Since the weather was so beautiful one afternoon this week we put our the slip N' slide! The kids & our neighbors had a blast and played for hours!

Lasers for Father's Day???

Not quite... the kids wanted to do something special for Andy for Father's Day. But since he wasn't feeling well the idea of going to Frankie's for a game of laser tag was out of the question. So we came up with plan D... and decided to let dad go on a laser hunt to find out what we had planned. I ran out to grab dad's favorite lobster tail from Outback and left the kids to string the "laser". Let's just say Caden & Alli had a great time and it took Andy over 20 minutes to find the prize!

Family time...National Treasure on Blue Ray, an Outback Picnic, Orville's famous Black Peppercorn Popcorn, and finally Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream (Butter Pecan - Andy's favorite).

Let's Do That Again!

This past weekend we took a little road trip up to Richmond to celebrate my cousin's graduation. It was a great time to hang out with family, visit Kings Dominion, and laugh...alot! First of all you have to love the Embassy Suites! Happy Hour, Manager's Reception, and made to order breakfast! So with our room & board taken care of all we had to do was celebrate! And since Kings Dominion was only 20 min. away so we thought it would be fun to load up the whole family and take off to the park after the picnic. Here are a few pics from the weekend!

Things we learned from our trip to Kings Dominion...
1. Dippin Dots are very refreshing!
2. Eloise is a perfect name for an Elephant as is Scratch for a tiger!
3. The Eiffel Tower is 1/3 the size of the real Eiffel Tower in Paris.
4. Alli is coaster crazy! "Let's Do That Again"
5. It is possible to stay as a group of 17 and still have fun!

Look Mom...no Cavities

It was a successful visit to the dentist! This was there first visit with Mommy's dentist, Dr. LeCann. The kids were all smiles as Alli received a new princess toothbrush and Caden discovered he has three loose teeth! The tooth fairy better be ready to visit the Moore house! Best of all No Cavities!

The Perfect Prince!

As I sit down to write tonight I am thankful first and formost for my friend Rachel. Her appointment today went well with the surgeon and the cancer is shrinking! Praise God! It was a bit cooler today...who knew we would be so excited about 94 degree weather! After our trip to the dentist, we came home and took a dip in our not so hot tub! As we sat outside playing and laughing we had some of our favorite music playing. The new SCC album!

The song Cinderella came on and both of my kids burst into song. I couldn't help but tear up, most of you know of the tragedy of Maria Sue Chapman three weeks ago. (http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/) Having a 5 year old daughter this hits very close to home...Caden asked me why I was crying. I told him I was sad for the Chapmans and what happened to Maria. Alli said " we should pray for them", so we did. Caden said "mom don't be said it is kind of funny". Shocked I looked at him trying to find out why he could find humor in this tragedy. He said "it is so cool, just like the song...Maria is with the Prince...in fact the Perfect Prince" My heart smiled...we must be doing something right. Maria is in fact with the Prince of Peace!

Sometimes I forget these sweet moments. I get bogged down with laundry, clutter or the exhausted mom moments. I listen to the kids jumping on the trampoline and playing with each other and then I heard the song "One Heartbeat". What encouragement for me and hopefully for you!

Loosing our Marbles!

Somedays I do feel like I am in fact loosing my marbles..but not today! We headed downtown for a trip to the kids museum. Alli loved being the fashion designer and making a lovely outfit for her paper doll. And it came as no suprise that Caden was quite the car builder! We also took in our first IMAX movie of Kung Fu Panda, very cute movie by the way!

School's Out...Scream & Shout!

Well it is here! Summer time and I can hardly believe it! It sure does seem to fly by! I guess it is about time that I join the blog world. I already have it as part of my daily routine to read through my friends blogs and see what they are up to. Hopefully, I too can be a blogger! Since we are in year round school we are enjoying our summer now! We have 32 days to fit in...swim lessons, dr. appts, lake trip, dentist, a graduation in Richmond, Kings Dominion, Vacation Bible School, Family Reunion, Beach, Trip to Charlotte, eye doctor, back to school shopping, and the pool. Ok so now after typing all of that I am exhausted and we have only begun!
