On the Road again...

Sunday we took a day trip to Greensboro to visit Gran & Papa. Luckily Amy & Anna were able to join us too! Lunch, Barnes & Nobles, Ben & Jerry's, and a family bike ride...all in an afternoon! Caden rode 3.3 miles, and Alli well...this photo gives new meaning to being an airhead! Who needs school when you have a bike pump! Just kidding sweet girl...

Better bring your A game!

We have two new soccer players in the family! The next two months we will be hitting the field as the Angels & the Deacons play a little futbol!

No Bull! We loved the Rodeo!

Thanks to my friend Gretchen...we put on our Cowboy hats and headed to the local Rodeo! Our friend the Centenos joined us for the event. It was an evening of fun and laughter! There is something to be said for an event that begins with cowboys in prayer! The kids also got to go inside the ring and chase a calf! We finished the evening with some rides on the bull! YeeHaw!

Hyco, Hyco...it's off to the lake we go!

Thanks to our friends the Tillers we spent the weekend at Lake Hyco with their family. We all had such a great time and the kids not only went tubing but they also both took their turn skiing! I couldn't believe it! We also had some wonderful food...gotta love some smoked pork butt! When we were out on the boat we also saw 2 bucks swimming across the lake! So cool!

Go Team USA! We hosted our Route 66 class social on Friday night. It felt just like we were in Bejiing! Pei Wei was of course on the menu...what better chinese food? And of course we had a few games ourselves! The highjump and gymnastics took place on the trampoline. Our friend Beau took gold no doubt ( he just took a job as the assistant diving coach at Duke )! You should see how high he jumps and the flips! We did have a few surprise results...Mike took Gold in the Rythmic Gymnastics and the Equestrain event was so close! April took gold and Emily & Dana were neck in neck for silver & bronze. The kids also participated in the events and Caden came up strong in the Basket-Ball game. Unfortunately it got to late and too dark for archery. It was a great time had by all. Remember USA USA USA! We just love the Olympics! In fact we loved it so much I had to take an Olympic break from blogging till it was over!

Gettin Piggy with it!

Caden was selected as star student of the week for his class. This means that he gets to bring home the class mascot...Olivia! She is a beautiful stuffed pig! Well needless to say we have gone Hog Wild this week! Olivia comes home with her diary. I'll let the pictures tell the story...

Honestly we had a great time showing Olivia around, she was so fun and certainly not a Boar!

We also received a wonderful email from Caden's teacher again today. "Mr. and Mrs. Moore,
Caden continues to be a pleasure to teach and a role model for his peers. I can not tell you how much we enjoy having him in our classroom. (We even love that snaggly tooth that just won't fall out too!)" It is such a blessing to have a teacher that believes in giving postive feedback on children!

Time Flies...

Ok...ok...I know I have not fallen off the face of the earth and yes thanks to all those who have called or emailed we are ok. Time just flies! Let's see from the last post here is the quick update on what we have been up to!

Celebrated YaYa & Granddaddy's 25th Anniversary

It sounds like alot and it has been! But it has been awesome! Alli started her first full week of school on the 14th. I went to Camp Nancy and scrapbooked all week! It was so much fun and I think it made the adjustment a lot easier. I was so excited to finish my 2006 album! I guess 2007 is next! Once Friday rolled around the kids were ready for some down time! During the next week, I worked on projects around the house...namely Laundry! We also cleaned out our garage, had some friends over for dinner, Caden lost his front tooth & so did our next door neighbor! Same tooth! The kids decided to have a " We Love Dad Day" so we made some yummy Elvis waffles for Daddy & that afternoon they danced in the rain! On Saturday we ran so errands at the mall while the kids went to screamin mimi's. We were leaving the mall around 8 when we started seeing all the folks pouring out and the police sirens. I am so glad we avoided the fight, but we did count 62 police cars as we were trying to leave the mall! Friday I help set up 5 local Dollar Tree Stores as collection centers for Operation Christmas Child. Please stop by this month and drop an item or two in the bins! The following Saturday we went out on Aunt Debbie and Uncle Jay's boat! Debbie got a new raft for her birthday so we took turns and went for a ride! The big & little kids loved it! We painted our living room! Thanks Gretchen for the color help! I love the Edamame! Tonight we celebrated Mom & Tom's 25th wedding anniversary at Frankie's! We all played laser tag and rode the go carts! We have had a fun but busy month but I wouldn't change a moment of it! What a blessing to be able to spend so much time with our family and friends! Praise for our friend and neighbor Rachel! The cancer is gone! Please pray for my friend Karen. She is having a c-section on Tuesday and there are lots of complications! Promise to blog soon!
