Helping out Santa

Another quick funny story this time about Alli...Christmas to me is such a special time of year! Andy & I have tried to keep the "I wants" to a minimum with the kids, still allowing the magic of Santa but focusing on the true meaning of the season. So just like Baby Jesus received three gifts from the wisemen...Santa brings 3 gifts to Caden & Alli. With every commercial or Toystore mailer the "list" changes. But there has been one constant on Alli's list. This is our dialog from the other day...
Alli "MaMa, I know what I want for Christmas"
Me "What is it?"
Alli "I want Biscuit, the dog"
Me "Alli, honey, Biscuit is pretty expensive & I don't think Mommy & Daddy can get that for you"
Alli "I know, so I am going to ask Santa for it"
Me "Alli, that might be too expensive for Santa too!"
Alli "I was already thinking about that...so I am going to set my piggy bank next to Santa's milk & cookies and he can take what he needs!"


We'll have to wait & see what Santa brings! After telling Dad about this conversation I am sure she won't be disappointed!

Helping the Toothfairy

Since I am posting so many today...you may not read from bottom to top so please read the Cache or Cash post before this to make since of the story...ok..After our adventure with the dog and the tooth we headed home to get dinner and head to bed. Well the kids to bed, I was hosting my Bible Study. After dinner Andy got the kids baths and to bed. I ran up stairs to ask Andy a question and Alli runs in "the tooth fairy came! she came already!" Much to my surprise I looked at Andy & he looked at me! "Let me show you," she exclaimed. Off to her room we went to discover under her pillow... a noodle necklace & a shiny quarter! She was so excited but told us she thought it was Caden. But not wanting risk it, she went right to bed and hoped that the tooth fairy would still come! I went to ask Caden about the findings..."Mom, I didn't know if the tooth fairy would be busy tonight and I didn't want Alli to be disappointed". He is so sweet!

Cache or Cash???

Ok friends I have been promising to get better about my blogging...here are a few of our recent funny stories. I don't know how many of you are familiar with Geocaching but our family has gotten hooked! To give you a little background...you go on line and fine where people have hidden the cache (pronounced cash). Type in your zip code and you will see tons in your area, well at least we did. Then you come up with a name for your team...Ours is the George Bailey Band! Set your GPS with the coordinates in longitude & latitude and your are off. Most of the cache boxes are small and a place to sign your name. Others you may leave an international coin or little trinket. The kids have loved this! Caden took in one of his "finds" to school for show & tell. His teacher was so interested in Geocaching after their conversation that she wanted to try it too! Well one Sunday in November...The George Bailey Band and Team Pfanny went out for some cache! Mrs. Pfanmiller was a pro...she could really spot them quick! We found 6 that day! WooHoo! Now you may be wondering about the Cash part of the blog post...well...Alli as you know loves dogs! We were entering Lake Lynn to look for a cache and a gentleman was walking his dog. In true Alli fashion she asked if she could pet the dog. She did and the dog jumped up...knocking off her glasses and knocking out her first tooth! For the record it was very, very loose!

November...gone before it started!

How is it that it is already December 1st and I feel like I was just blogging about where October went? Well we have been pretty steady and keeping busy. I do have a few fun stories about the kids and even some photos of our past month!

Shewwww....where did October go???

Well I don't exactly know what happened but the month of October just flew by! So just to keep you posted here is a quick rundown of our month...we mulched the yard, Caden received his 1st grade Bible from church, the kids started Tae Kwon Do, Andy's sister Sally got married, Andy's 36th Birthday, Field Trip to Ganyard Hill Farm, Kids' weekend with YaYa & Granddaddy, Route 66 marriage retreat in Wilmington, My 35th Birthday, Rock Band 2, the Fair, Fall Fest, Operation Christmas Child Stuffing party, Field Trip to Marbles Museum, and Halloween!

Staying up Late????

We hosted our first official sleepover for both of the kids during our September break. The kids were able to select one friend to invite. Alli selected her friend Kate & Caden wanted his friend Noah. Honestly we were not exactly sure how this was going to go but to my suprise it was awesome! We had Happy Meals for dinner, made a few craft projects and then after making special treats, we watched the B -Movie. Andy & I told the kids after that after the movie was bedtime and sure enough...we hear the door open...4 precious children, pillows under one arm and stuffed animals under the other, made their way to the kids rooms and went strait to bed! Just a few giggles and laughter and they were out! The next morning we made special waffles before the kids had to head home. The kids can't wait till December track out to have another!!!

Back on Track...1 that is!

Hello faithful readers...I know it has been almost 2 weeks since my last post but the kids were tracked out so we stayed on the go! I took the term "stay at home" mom loosely! Our last fling of track out, I took the kids down to Cherry Grove for a couple of days. Andy wasn't able to go, but I was determined to get some beach photos this summer. You know the scrapbooker in me couldn't let a season go without some photos. Unfortunately, the weather was not on my same wave length! Windy...did I mention it was Windy! Our first day they did get to play on the beach and jump some waves. I did eventually snap a few fun shots...and we headed home before the big storm. We had a great time at the beach. My cousin Courtney was able to join us for a little fun in the sun one day!
